The concluding fixture of matchday 10 in Serie A features Atalanta BC facing off against a struggling Parma, who will be aiming to move out of the relegation zone by outperforming Fiorentina.
The Emilians may find motivation in Atalanta’s current four-match winless streak, which included an exciting 4-4 draw against Frosinone during their previous game at Gewiss Stadium in week eight.
Match overview
Atalanta has not secured a victory in their last four games since defeating Pafos 3-1 in the Conference League, shortly after they triumphed over promoted Venezia with the same scoreline in early October.
The win against Venezia remains La Dea’s last Serie A victory, despite their efforts: Maurizio Sarri’s side almost equalized against AC Milan after trailing 3-0 before eventually losing 3-2, and they have since played to draws of 4-4 with Frosinone and 2-2 against Fiorentina.
The Nerazzurri find themselves just six points above the relegation spots and six points behind Frosinone, who occupy the last European qualification position, as the Serie A standings start to take form.
With 10 of their 11 points acquired at home, Sarri’s team approaches Monday’s match looking for a fourth home win in the league, which could help them close the gap to sixth place.
Having clinched victory in seven of their last 10 encounters against Parma, the Bergamaschi will be confident of enhancing that record against the Emilians and achieving their first win in five outings.
Alberto Gilardino’s squad enters the match as clear underdogs, having not enjoyed a win since late September.
They have struggled to build upon their 2-1 victory over Daniele De Rossi’s Genoa, facing consecutive 3-0 defeats against Inter de Milão and Torino, followed by a 2-1 loss to Lazio in week eight.
While the Emilia-Romagna team came close to overcoming Udinese, they were denied by Maduka Okoye, who stopped Adrian Bernabe’s penalty in the 69th minute, resulting in a scoreless draw at the Tardini.
That single point didn’t suffice to elevate Gilardino’s men out of the bottom three, but a draw could be enough this time, given a victory by Sassuolo against Fiorentina in Monday’s prior matchup.
Even that seems a difficult task for a team that has endured significant hardship at this venue over the last decade: Parma has lost five of their last six visits to Bergamo, conceding 16 goals without scoring in those matches, although they did manage a rare win, 3-2, back in May 2025.
Team News
Atalanta’s Franck Kessie and Thomas Kristensen face uncertainty regarding their participation, while Giacomo Raspadori, Gianluca Scamacca, Raoul Bellanova (thigh), Isak Hien, Sead Kolasinac, Odilon Kossounou, and Gianluca Gaetano will all miss out due to injuries.
These absences leave La Dea missing several key players, although leading scorer Nikola Krstovic hopes to extend his tally of six league goals, placing him behind Gustavo Varela on nine and Donyell Malen and Antonio Raimondo, both on eight.
Lautaro Valenti and Nesta Elphege both face late fitness tests to assess their availability for Parma on Monday.
Currently, the league’s lowest scoring team has managed to find the back of the net just five times in nine matches, with David Romero and Simone Lontani both contributing two goals apiece, highlighting their lack of effective scoring options.
ATALANTA BC probable starting XI:
Carnesecchi; Zappacosta, Scalvini, Obric, Bernasconi; Pasalic, Ederson; Elmas, De Ketelaere, Rowe; Krstovic
PARMA probable starting XI:
Crows; Diego Carlos, Troilo, Drobnic; Delprato, Sierro, Keita, Valeri; Bernabe; Toure, Romero
Atalanta’s defensive vulnerabilities have extended their streak without a win, but facing a Parma side that has scored only five goals in nine league fixtures presents a chance to regain some defensive strength.
With 10 of their 11 points collected at home and Krstovic proving to be a consistent scoring threat, La Dea receives our backing to return to winning form.
