Looking to secure their sixth consecutive win across all competitions, high-flying Bournemouth will host Leeds United at the Vitality Stadium for a Premier League matchup on Saturday.
The Cherries and the Whites ended in a 2-2 stalemate on both occasions last season, with Sean Longstaff scoring a dramatic equalizer in the 97th minute during their latest matchup on the South Coast back in April.
Match overview
Bournemouth encountered a rough start under new head coach Marco Rose, but they have certainly hit their stride in the past two weeks, achieving victories in all of their last five outings across three competitions, boasting an impressive aggregate score of 14-0.
Within just six days, Cherries fans have witnessed their team defeat Italian powerhouses AC Milan in the Europa League, Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Premier League, and Aston Villa in the EFL Cup fourth round, all with commanding 3-0 scorelines.
Despite rotating eight players on Wednesday, Bournemouth’s winning momentum shows no signs of waning, as they comfortably dispatched an equally-changed Villa side on home turf, with goals from Amine Adli, Lewis Cook, and Alvaro Rodriguez setting up a quarter-final tie in the EFL Cup against Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool.
After failing to secure a win in their first six Premier League matches this season, consecutive victories have seen Bournemouth rise to 13th place in the table, just two points behind Leeds, who sit in seventh position ahead of Saturday’s clash.
Bournemouth is now aiming to achieve three Premier League wins in a row without conceding for the first time this weekend, though claiming full points is not a certainty as they have recorded only two victories in their last 11 home games in the top flight (D8 L1).
Since thrashing Newcastle 4-1 at Elland Road on September 14, Leeds have not managed to win any of their last four Premier League fixtures (D3 L1), including a goalless draw against last-place Sunderland last Sunday in treacherous weather conditions.
Only Brentford has drawn as many Premier League games as Leeds (five) after eight matches this season, while both the Whites and the Bees have recorded the highest number of draws among any top-flight teams this calendar year (14 each). Additionally, Leeds holds the record for the most 0-0 draws in 2026, with five.
Head coach Daniel Farke anticipates a “tough game” against the in-form Bournemouth this weekend, yet he believes that his Leeds squad can pose a challenge to any team in the league if they maintain a “high intensity” throughout the 90 minutes and deliver a “relentless” performance.
This season, Leeds have particularly excelled defensively, with only the champions Arsenal (five) conceding fewer goals in the Premier League than the Whites (six). Furthermore, summer signing James Trafford boasts the highest save percentage in the league (82.4%) and ranks second in total saves (30).
Heading into Saturday’s fixture, Leeds are eager to capture their first top-flight away victory since the opening weekend of the season (1-0 at Nottingham Forest in August), and they last claimed a league win at Bournemouth back in September 2014 (3-1 in the Championship).
Team News
Bournemouth’s Alex Scott (thigh), Alex Toth (thigh), and Julian Araujo are all still out due to thigh injuries, while Veljko Milosavljevic (knee) will be evaluated after featuring for the Under-21s earlier this week.
Last season’s top scorer Eli Junior Kroupi is back in contention following a lengthy injury absence, yet he is not ready to start in the forward line, meaning Evanilson – who has netted four goals in his past five matches – will continue to spearhead the attack.
Marcus Tavernier, Justin Kluivert, and Rayan are anticipated to provide attacking support, while former Leeds midfielder Lewis Cook will hope to retain his place in the starting lineup alongside either Ryan Christie or Tyler Adams.
In the case of Leeds, Mateo Joseph (knee) and Joe Rodon (hamstring) both remain unavailable, while Anton Stach is “struggling” with a foot issue and will be assessed prior to kickoff.
Meanwhile, Nico Elvedi has recovered from illness and will be in contention for a place at centre-back along with Tarik Muharemovic and James Justin, potentially replacing Jaka Bijol.
Noah Okafor is expected to be fit enough to start in the forward line alongside Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has not scored during his last three visits to the Vitality Stadium. Harry Wilson could start in an advanced role if Stach cannot play.
Bournemouth probable starting XI:
Petrovic; Smith, Hill, Silva, Truffert; Adams, Cook; Rayan, Kluivert, Tavernier; Evanilson
Leeds United probable starting XI:
Trafford; Justin, Elvedi, Muharemovic; Bogle, Ampadu, Tanaka, Gudmundsson; Wilson, Okafor; Calvert-Lewin
An average of five goals have been netted in the last four Premier League encounters between Bournemouth and Leeds (totaling 20), setting the stage for what could be an exciting fixture on the South Coast.
Both the Cherries (13) and the Whites (14) have consistently drawn matches in 2026, yet we are supporting the hosts to utilize their positive momentum and secure a narrow victory.
