Toulouse xStrasbourg - prediction, team news, lineups

On Friday, Strasbourg looks to equal their longest winning streak of the season when they take on Toulouse on matchday 10 of Ligue 1 at Stadium de Toulouse.

The teams are currently level on 10 points, with Le Tefece in 12th place after suffering a 2-0 defeat against Marseille, while Strasbourg sits right below them on goal difference following a commanding 5-1 victory over Auxerre.

Match overview

The beginning of November marked the end of Toulouse’s five-match unbeaten streak in domestic action, as they struggled to turn possession and opportunities into goals against Stade Velodrome.

Under Jens Berthel Askou, the team registered six shots on target last week but failed to find the back of the net, a recurring issue as they have not scored in their last two league matches.

After nine rounds, they have missed the fourth-most big opportunities in Ligue 1 (19), and a lack of scoring could lead to three consecutive Ligue 1 matches without a goal for the first time in 2026.

Conversely, they aim to extend their home unbeaten streak in this competition to three games, tying their longest run without a loss at Stadium de Toulouse this year.

Only five of their 13 goals conceded in league play have occurred at home in Toulouse, as they look to secure consecutive home clean sheets for the first time this year.

Toulouse has gained points in their last four encounters with Strasbourg at home, achieving a clean sheet in two of the last three matches.

Strasbourg halted their poor form last week with a strong home win against Auxerre in Alsace.

This victory has placed them three points above the relegation zone and just two points shy of the top half of the standings.

At times this season, Hugo Oliveira’s squad has demonstrated attacking prowess, scoring multiple goals in three matches, although they have only done so once in away fixtures, defeating Troyes 6-2 on matchday three.

Meanwhile, Strasbourg has allowed multiple goals in every away match this season, conceding at least once in all but one league game this year.

Two of their three league victories came after they fell behind first, but they’ve also squandered eight points from winning positions.

Le Racing can aim to break a two-match losing streak in Ligue 1 against Toulouse on Friday, having secured points in eight of their last nine away encounters against the southern French side.

Team News

Rafik Messali is likely to miss the fixture for Toulouse due to a leg injury, while Abu Francis is a doubt because of a hamstring issue.

However, Aron Donnum will be absent due to suspension after picking up enough yellow cards this season.

At Strasbourg, Fabio Balde is uncertain due to muscle tightness, Joaquin Panichelli will continue to be out with a cruciate ligament tear, while Hermann Malonga, Deivid Washington, and Maxi Oyedele are all doubtful owing to injuries.

In their last game, Gessime Yassine scored twice, supported by goals from Martial Godo, Dario Essugo, and Conrad Harder.

Toulouse probable starting XI:

Remains; Diallo, McKenzie, Nicolaisen, Tape; Schmidt, Casseres, Sigur, Jorgensen; Russell-Rowe, Tengstedt

Strasbourg probable starting XI:

Jorgensen; Doukoure, Hogsberg, Coulibaly, Oso; El Mourabet; Essugo, Reyna; Yassine, Harder, Godot

At home, Toulouse has shown their best form in this competition this season, while Strasbourg has struggled for consistency in away games, and on Friday, they may allow too many promising scoring chances.
