Al-Nassr vs Damac – News and Probable Lineups

The championship of the Saudi Pro League will be determined on Thursday as Al-Nassr hosts Damac at Alawwal Park in Riyadh.

A 1-1 stalemate against Al Hilal last week secured Al-Nassr a two-point lead in the title chase, whereas Damac sits just two points clear of the relegation zone following a 3-0 victory over Al Fayha.

Match overview

The pursuit of their first Pro League title since the 2018-19 season has been extended another week as Al-Nassr allowed Al-Hilal to equalize in stoppage time during the second half.

Nevertheless, they can secure the championship for the 11th time in their history with a victory.

Jorge Jesus’s squad heads into this match with an impressive nine-game unbeaten streak at home in this tournament, collecting maximum points in eight of those games.

This season, they have not been shut out in any league match, though they have scored one goal or fewer in three of their last five top-flight home fixtures.

However, it’s worth noting that three of their last four Saudi Pro League matches at home in May have resulted in dropped points, and they risk going winless in two consecutive home games for the first time since May 2025 on Thursday.

Al-Nassr has achieved nine consecutive victories against Damac in the Saudi top division, having won four times in a row on home soil.

Similar to Al-Nassr, Damac also faces significant stakes this week as they aim to secure their position in the Saudi Pro League for next season.

A win on Thursday would guarantee their spot in the league, although a draw may suffice given their advantageous goal difference over Al-Riyadh.

Under Fabio Carille, the team has struggled against the current top five, having lost to Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal in recent away matches.

With 31 goals in the league this season, they have the second-lowest tally after 33 matches, with only Al Akhdoud scoring fewer (27).

A win or draw this Thursday would ensure this team reaches the 30-point mark in the league for a third consecutive campaign.

They have not triumphed over Al-Nassr since 2021 (3-2), but four of their last five encounters with them have seen them lose by just a single goal.

Team News

Al-Nassr might be missing Marcelo Brozovic due to a groin strain, while Abdullah Al-Khaibari is doubtful with a hamstring issue, and Raghed Al-Najjar along with Sam Al-Najei are sidelined with cruciate ligament injuries.

Mohamed Simakan gave them the lead last Tuesday before a Bento own-goal cost them two points, while Cristiano Ronaldo has only found the net once in his last three league appearances.

New additions to the Damac starting lineup on Friday included Abdullah Al-Qahtani and Arielson, who replaced David Kaiki and Yahya Al-Najei.

Morlaye Sylla scored the winning goal 15 minutes into their match against Al Fayha, with Abdelkader Bedrane adding security with a brace in the second half.

Al-Nassr probable starting XI:

Bento; Boushal, Simakan, Al-Amri, Martinez; Coman, Al-Najei, Al-Hassan, Mane; Felix, Ronaldo

Damac probable starting XI:

Kerwin; Hawsawi, Harkass, Bedrane, Al-Obaid; Sylla, Abdullah, Wada; Meite, Arielson, Okita

Al-Nassr has come too far to allow one unsatisfactory result to hinder their progress, and we anticipate their offensive strength will carry them to clinch that long-desired league title.
