Osasuna xLevante - prediction, team news, lineups

Osasuna is set to kick off their 2026-27 La Liga season with a matchup against Levante this coming Monday.

While Osasuna is gearing up to start their campaign, Levante has already played once, suffering a 3-0 defeat against Espanyol on August 16.

Match overview

Last season, Osasuna finished in 17th place in Spain’s top division, coming perilously close to relegation, indicating there is ample opportunity for progress in the upcoming season.

Osasuna had an active pre-season, participating in six friendly matches. They secured victories in their first three against Racing Santander, Ipswich Town, and Norwich City, but subsequently lost to Napoli and Al-Ain, wrapping up their pre-season with a draw against Arenas Getxo.

This summer, Los Rojillos have reinforced their squad with three new signings, acquiring Jonathan Dubasin, Rockson Yeboah, and Diego Rico.

The team’s notable departure is Victor Munoz, who moved to Liverpool in a lucrative transfer, and further changes in the squad are anticipated before the transfer window closes.

Historically, Osasuna has enjoyed success in head-to-head matches against Levante, winning 16 out of the last 34 encounters, although the most recent meeting in May 2026 ended in a 3-2 victory for Levante.

Conversely, Levante has faced difficulties, losing three of their last five matches against Osasuna, including a 2-0 defeat in the corresponding fixture from the 2025-26 season.

Levante concluded the previous season in 16th place in Spain’s La Liga, tied on points with Osasuna, both teams having identical records of 11 wins, nine draws, and 18 defeats.

So far, Luis Castro’s squad has begun their new La Liga campaign with a heavy 3-0 loss against Espanyol on August 16, and they will be aiming for a turnaround this coming Monday.

Levante has also been active in the transfer market this summer, adding seven players to their ranks, including Hugo Sotelo and Aissa Mandi; additional movements may occur before the market closes.

Osasuna’s pre-season form:

Team News

Osasuna is likely to be without Valentin Rosier, who is nursing a hamstring injury, but other than that, the team is in good shape heading into this clash.

Debuts for Rico and Dubasin are anticipated, while Raul Moro is expected to play a role in the attacking setup.

Ante Budimir, who netted 17 goals in Spain’s top tier last season, is projected to feature as the central forward on Monday night.

On the other hand, Levante will see the return of Roger Brugue to their squad following a suspension.

However, Alejandro Primo’s status is uncertain due to a shoulder injury.

Despite the disappointing result against Espanyol, head coach Castro is expected to stick with his current lineup rather than making substantial changes.

Osasuna probable starting XI:

Fernandez; Boyomo, Catena, Herrando, Rico; Moncayola, Torro, Gomez; Dubasin, Budimir, Moro

Levante probable starting XI:

Ryan; Perez, Dela, Mandi, Sanchez; Olasagasti, Rey; Garcia, Alvarez, Corest; Romero

Considering Levante’s underwhelming performance against Espanyol last time, we expect Osasuna to leverage their home advantage and secure the full three points this Monday night.
