Famalicao is looking to achieve their first win of the new Primeira Liga season as they take on Gil Vicente in the Minho derby at Estadio Municipal 22 de Junho this Sunday.

The Vila Nova outfit has managed to gather only one point from their first three fixtures of the season, which places them 14th in the standings of the Portuguese top tier, while the sixth-placed Gil Vicente side has recorded victories in both of their early encounters this term.

Nevertheless, the Vila Nova club has struggled against Gil Vicente at home in recent outings, having drawn their last two meetings and managing only one point across both encounters last term, which included a heavy 5-0 defeat at Barcelos in February.

Aiming to secure consecutive wins over Famalicao for the first time since April 1991 and January 1992, Gil Vicente approaches this match with a boost of confidence, having won both of their encounters this season without conceding a goal in either.
