Mirassol vs Bragantino – News and Probable Lineups

Mirassol aims to get back to winning ways in the Brasileirao as they take on Bragantino at the Campos Maia stadium this Sunday.

The home team is still searching for their first victory since the opening matchday, while the Massa Bruta achieved a win against Flamengo in their last fixture and will be looking to build on that success.

Match overview

Following a remarkable 2025 season that saw them qualify for the Copa Libertadores for the first time ever, Mirassol has found it challenging to secure positive results in the Brasileirao this season and is facing difficulties.

The Leao Caipira currently finds themselves in the relegation zone, with only one win and three draws, having netted 10 times while conceding 13 goals in eight matches, placing them in 19th position with just six points from a possible 24.

As they approach Sunday’s match, Mirassol is on a streak of seven league games without a win, their sole victory coming in the season opener when they narrowly defeated Vasco da Gama 2-1 on January 30.

This poor run included a 1-0 loss to Coritiba on March 19 that snapped their impressive 22-game unbeaten streak at home in the league, highlighting their defensive challenges this season.

Rafael Guanaes’s team has conceded in every one of their last 11 matches across all competitions, allowing a total of 18 goals since their 4-0 triumph over Sao Bernardo on January 24.

On the other hand, Bragantino is currently positioned 11th in the Brasileirao standings with 11 points from nine matches, having achieved three wins and two draws, scoring nine goals and conceding 10 in the process.

While Vagner Mancini’s squad has shown inconsistency thus far, they will be looking to capitalize on last week’s victory over Flamengo to secure a strong position in the league with a string of positive results.

Bragantino had gone six matches across all competitions without a win, including three losses, but a 3-0 home win against 10-man Flamengo last Friday, with contributions from Isidro Pitta, Gabriel Girotto, and Lucas Barbosa, lifted their spirits.

The Massa Bruta will enter this fixture confident, having gone unbeaten against Mirassol in their last five encounters, acquiring two wins and three draws since their last loss—3-1—in January 2022.

Team News

Guanaes will not face any major issues assembling Mirassol’s squad for Sunday’s encounter, as they only have two confirmed absentees.

Negueba is currently serving a suspension for reaching the yellow card threshold after his booking against Botafogo, while left-back Igor Carius is sidelined due to an injury until mid-April.

Bragantino, on the other hand, will be missing several key players in the center of the team, with Vanderlan out due to illness and Guzman Rodrigues recovering from a cruciate ligament injury.

They will also be without Fabricio and 27-year-old striker Fernando, alongside David Gomes who is unavailable because of a knee issue.

Mirassol probable starting XI:

Walter; Formiga, Victor, Machado, Reinaldo; Moura, Filho; Alesson, Shaylon, Galeano; Soares

Bragantino probable starting XI:

Volpi; Sant’Anna, Vinicius, Marques, Capixaba; Girotto, Fernandes; Herrera, Barbosa, Mosquera; Pitta

After their remarkable achievements last season, Mirassol has demonstrated that they can hold their own in the higher leagues and will aim to quickly rectify their slow start to the season.

Guanaes’s team has made their home ground a challenging venue for any visiting team, and we expect them to emerge victorious against a Bragantino side that has had its own struggles for consistency this season.
