Inter Miami vs. Orlando City – News and Probable Lineups

In their second encounter of the 2026 MLS season, Orlando City will travel to Nu Stadium for their first match against Inter Miami this Saturday.

As the weekend approaches, the Herons find themselves in second place on the Eastern Conference table, having drawn 1-1 with the New Inglaterra Revolution, while Orlando sits near the bottom in 13th place, after suffering a 3-2 loss against DC United.

Match overview

Inter Miami continues to seek that elusive first home victory at their new venue, having drawn all three of their regular-season matches at Nu Stadium.

In all of those games, they have fallen behind at some point but managed to equalize, including last weekend with less than 10 minutes on the clock.

Since taking over, Angel Guillermo Hoyos remains unbeaten and will be hoping to steer his team clear of dropping points in consecutive MLS fixtures for the second time this year.

Although home advantage hasn’t favored them much this season, Inter Miami has picked up points in nine of their last ten regular-season games in Florida.

With a chance to extend their unbeaten streak in this competition to ten matches for the first time since winning the Supporters’ Shield in 2024, Miami is eager for success.

Their last two encounters with their in-state rivals ended with the Herons claiming victory by a total score of 7-3.

While Miami is adept at finding ways to secure points, the same cannot be said for Orlando City, who have struggled in recent matches.

Orlando City has fallen in two of their last three league games, with Martin Perelman still looking for his first regular-season away win as head coach.

Defensively, the squad has had issues, conceding a league-worst total of 29 goals—over half of their entire allowance from the 2025 season (51).

The defense has been particularly porous on the road, allowing five or more goals in three separate matches.

Since last season, the Lions have dropped points in nine consecutive MLS matches as away attendees, scoring one goal or fewer in all but two instances.

This weekend, Orlando City aims to secure back-to-back away victories against Miami in this competition, having defeated them 3-0 in Fort Lauderdale last season.

Team News

Mateo Silvetti may be sidelined for Inter Miami this weekend due to a left hamstring strain, while Sergio Reguilon is listed as questionable with a sore right hamstring, and David Ayala’s adductor injury may keep him out of the next match.

German Berterame has become the team’s second-highest scorer this season with his third goal against New Inglaterra, trailing behind captain Lionel Messi, who leads the team with seven goals in this competition.

David Brekalo may be unavailable for Orlando due to a lower leg injury, Marco Pasalic has a sore thigh, Duncan McGuire is dealing with a lower leg issue, and Joran Gerbet’s knee problem puts him in doubt.

Tyrese Spicer registered his first goal of the 2026 MLS season last week, while Justin Ellis also scored for the first time while donning a Lions shirt.

Inter Miami probable starting XI:

St. Clair; Micael, Falcon, Fray; Allende, Morales, De Paul, Mura; Messi, Segovia; Suarez

Orlando City probable starting XI:

Crepeau; Dorsey, Theodore, Jansson, Marin; Cartagena, B. Eye; Otavio, Spicer; M. Eyelash, Ellis

Despite missing several scoring chances last weekend, Miami should create more opportunities against an Orlando City defense that has been inconsistent, and it is believed the home side will capitalize on their chances this time.
