Bohemians vs Shamrock – News and Probable Lineups
Dalymount Park will serve as the venue for a critical match in the League of Ireland Premier Division on Monday, as Bohemians face Shamrock Rovers.
The Bohs aim to secure their fourth consecutive win, while the Hoops strive to avoid a third straight defeat.
Match overview
Under the guidance of Alan Reynolds, Bohemians concluded the last season in fourth place but are now setting their sights on the top position as they gear up to challenge the league leaders.
In their last outing on Friday, the Bohs triumphed over Galway United with a score of 4-2 away from home, following a 2-1 win over Drogheda United and a 3-1 victory against Dundalk in the weeks leading up to this match.
These victories stand in stark contrast to the nine-match winless streak they faced beforehand, indicating a significant turnaround for the club as they enter this pivotal fixture.
Currently ranked third in the Premier Division, Bohemians have accumulated 31 points, placing them three points behind the league leaders and one behind St Patrick’s Athletic.
However, home fans may feel apprehensive about their team’s prospects, given that they have recorded just one victory in their last six home fixtures, with four draws and one loss since mid-March.
On the other side, Stephen Bradley’s Shamrock clinched the Premier Division title in 2025 but enter this game fully aware that their top position is under threat.
Adding to their troubles, the Hoops have struggled recently, as they followed their 1-0 loss to Dundalk with another defeat, losing 2-1 to ninth-placed Sligo Rovers on Friday.
This latest setback has left Shamrock just two points ahead of St Pat’s and only three above their opponents Bohemians, although they do hold a slightly better goal difference.
However, fans are hopeful that Bradley’s squad can quickly find their rhythm, particularly considering the champions had suffered only one defeat in their last 13 matches, a loss that ironically dates back to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Bohemians on February 27.
Despite this, Rovers have been particularly inconsistent away from home this season. They have secured only three victories from nine away league encounters in 2026, while also losing two of their last three matches, leaving their ability to perform on the road uncertain ahead of Monday’s contest.
Team News
Bohemians will be missing left-back Senan Mullen, who is currently recuperating from an injury sustained during their match against Shelbourne on May 4.
Given this situation, one can expect a defensive lineup featuring Darragh Power, Cian Byrne, Patrick Hickey, and Jordânia Flores, with goalkeeper Kacper Chorazka protecting the goal.
As for Shamrock, they face several absences in their attacking ranks, with strikers Maleace Asamoah, Daniel Mandroiu, and Rory Gaffney all sidelined due to muscle injuries.
In their absence, 17-year-old Michael Noonan is likely to take charge upfront, supported by John McGovern and fellow 17-year-old Victor Ozhianvuna.
Bohemians probable starting XI:
Chorazka; Power, Byrne, Hickey, Flores; Diallo, Devoy; Strodes, Tierney, Rooney; Whelan
Shamrock Rovers probable starting XI:
McGinty; Cleary, Grace, Stevens; Sobowale, Healy, Byrne, Brennan; Ozhianvuna, McGovern; Noonan
Bohemians come into this match in good form, having ended a nine-game winless streak with three consecutive victories, although their home performance has been somewhat concerning.
Conversely, Shamrock has had its own struggles away this season, and while they could potentially compete, they might find it difficult to overcome the Bohs on Monday.
