How to use the bankroll management spreadsheet

How Our Bankroll Management Spreadsheet Works and How to Edit It Easily

In this article, we will explain in a simple and practical way how our bankroll management spreadsheet for sports betting works. You will see how easy it is to track your results, filter bets by category, and monitor your performance over time.

We will show you:

  • Where you can edit your registered bets.
  • How to filter results by period, bet type, championship, or any other criteria you want.
  • How to update your units and automatically calculate your profits and losses.

The spreadsheet was developed to be intuitive and easy to use, even for those with little experience with Excel. For a better experience, we recommend that you edit the spreadsheet on a computer, where the visualization and functions are more complete.

Don’t have Excel installed? No problem!
You can edit the spreadsheet completely free of charge in your browser using the website
OneDrive. Just follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://onedrive.live.com/.
  2. Log in with a Microsoft account (if you don’t have one, it’s quick to create a free one).
  3. After logging in, click “Upload” to upload the spreadsheet to your OneDrive.
  4. Then, click on the uploaded file, and it will open automatically in Excel Online.
  5. Now you can edit normally directly in your browser, without needing to install any program!

With these guidelines, you will be able to use the full power of our spreadsheet to manage your bets professionally and organized.

Monthly Summary by Championship

This section of the spreadsheet shows an overview of performance by championship during the month. It includes:

  • Championship Names: Such as English, German, Spanish Championship, etc.
  • Qty of Bets: Number of bets placed in each league.
  • Total Investment: How many units were invested per championship.
  • % of Success: Success rate of bets in that league.
  • Average Odds: Average of the odds placed.
  • Profit/Loss: Final result in units, positive or negative.
  • ROI per League: Return on investment specific to each championship.

In the right corner, you will see the total monthly profit/loss and the consolidated overall ROI.

Important: in this part of the spreadsheet, the only cell you need to edit manually is the month name (at the top of the “Profit/Loss” section). This helps to clearly identify the period to which the data refers.

Tip: for a better experience, edit this spreadsheet on a computer. If you don’t have Excel installed, see below how to open and edit for free via OneDrive.

Average Odds and Entry Performance

In this section of the spreadsheet, you can track the overall performance of your bets, including statistics on the type of result (green, red, void, etc.) and the average odds for each of them.

Average Odds

On the left side, you will see the overall average odds of your bets based on the result:

  • GREEN (won bets)
  • VOID (refunded bets)
  • RED (lost bets)

Legend

Just below the odds table, there is a legend explaining what each type of result means:

  • GREEN = won bet
  • MG (half green) = half won
  • VOID = refunded bet
  • MR (half red) = half lost
  • RED = lost bet

Entry Performance

On the right side, the spreadsheet displays the total number of bets by result type:

  • GREEN – total won bets
  • RED – total lost bets
  • HALF GREEN – half won bets
  • HALF RED – half lost bets
  • VOID – refunded bets
  • TOTAL – overall sum of all entries

This information helps you better understand your overall betting performance and identify where you are succeeding the most.

Bet Registration

This is the most important part of the spreadsheet, as it is where you will record all the details of your sports bets. From this information, the spreadsheet automatically updates the profits and losses by championship, average odds, overall performance, and the consolidated monthly results.

What should be filled in manually:

  • Date of the bet
  • Match (e.g., Team 1 vs Team 2)
  • Entry – the bet placed (e.g., Over 2.5)
  • Investment – the amount bet in units (e.g., 1u, 2u, etc.)
  • Odds – write with a comma, and not with a dot (e.g., 2,20 and not 2.20)
  • Status – the result of the bet (detailed below)

What you can select with two clicks:

  • Bookmaker (e.g., Bet365, Betano, etc.)
  • League (e.g., Champions League, English Championship, etc.)
  • Market (e.g., Over 2.5 goals, Handicap, etc.)

How to correctly fill in the Status:

  • green – if the bet was won
  • red – if the bet was lost
  • void – if the bet was refunded
  • mg – if the bet was half won
  • mr – if the bet was half lost

Attention: write exactly as shown above (without variations) so that the spreadsheet correctly calculates the results.

After filling in this section, the spreadsheet automatically updates all other parts:

  • Profits and losses by championship
  • Average odds
  • Entry performance
  • Overall monthly profit/loss

Final tip: always fill in carefully and use a computer to make editing easier. The spreadsheet was created to facilitate your bankroll control in a simple, visual, and automated way.

Daily Performance

This section of the spreadsheet shows an automatic summary of your earnings and ROI per day. It is ideal for those who want to track betting performance on each specific date of the month.

The only field you need to edit manually is the dates. Simply fill in the date column with the days on which there were bets. The rest of the data (earnings and ROI) will be filled in automatically based on the bets you register in the main table.

This part is optional but very useful for those who want to track the ups and downs of daily performance, as well as making it easier to identify more profitable or negative days.

Tip: you can fill in all the dates of the month at once, even before betting, to have the view ready and just track the results being updated.

Profit/Loss by Market

In this section, you can track the financial performance of each type of market you use in your bets, such as “Over 2.5 goals,” “Asian Handicap,” “Both Teams to Score,” among others.

The spreadsheet automatically calculates the gains or losses per market based on the registered bets. This helps you identify which markets have brought more profit or loss over time.

Market Customization

You can freely edit the names of the markets in this table. If you change any name, the change will be automatically reflected when selecting the market type when registering your bets in the main table.

We have already pre-registered the most common markets in the world of sports betting, but feel free to rename or adapt according to your betting style.

Example: if you prefer to call “Draw No Bet” something else, just change the name here, and it will already be available for selection in the bet registration section.

Performance by Bookmaker

In this section, you will see the accumulated profit or loss and the ROI for each bookmaker you have used. This view helps to identify where you have performed better or worse over time.

The columns display:

  • Bookmaker – Name of the bookmaker (e.g., Bet365, Betano, etc.)
  • Units – Total profit or loss generated at each bookmaker
  • ROI – Return on investment for each bookmaker

Customization

You can freely edit the names of the bookmakers in this table. If you change any name, the change will be automatically reflected in the bet registration area, making it easier to select the bookmaker used for each bet.

By default, we have included the main bookmakers used in the Brazilian market, but you can remove or add others according to your needs.
